This homily was given at St. Francis de Sales. The Gospel was Mt 23:1-12. The warning of Jesus to call no man 'father' is not a critique of the Catholic Priesthood, rather it is a call to freedom. It is an invitation for us to have an intimate relationship with God the Father through Jesus. This relieves the burden from priests & religious leaders, but puts it on us to be responsible for our relationship with the Father.
