Today on the feast of St. Catherine of Siena, I offer an
analogy for our faith life. It says in the entrance antiphon
that she carried her lit lamp to meet our Lord. Well, faith
is the lamp, hope is the oil, and love is the fire that is lit
by fire & love alone. We cannot light the fire of love except
by encountering Christ's love.
